The AOI process is carried out on every panel produced, the panels are scanned to the original customer data files (netlists). The camera resolution will detect opens, shorts, nicks and spurious copper etc. The machine will scan down to track and gaps of 0.002”/0.05mm.
A video camera also displays the panel image to help the operator identify the validity of the defects reported.
